Death killed him.
Go under the tree to find Death.
Once upon a time, there was three Flemish men. These three men were very selfish and greedy; they loved to indulge on all kinds of luxury. They had 4 sins: gluttony, swearing, gambling, and drunkenness .
WOW!!!There's gold coins!
One day, they heard a funeral bell. A villager told them that the person who had just died was one of their friends, and he was killed by Death. The three, being drunk, swore that they would kill Death.
While the three men were walking, they met an old man. The old man said he said that they can find death right under that big three, so the three men decided to go to the tree to find Death.
When the three men arrived at the tree, they found a bunch of gold coins under it. They decided to take the money but wanted to wait until it became dark because they didn't want to be seen as thieves.
When the youngest one of the three went back to town to get some wine , the other men decided they were going to kill the youngest one to get a larger share. The youngest one also wanted to kill the others with poisonous wine.
When the youngest one came back, the other two killed him. They decided to celebrate by drinking the wine the other man brought back. By drinking the poisonous wine, they also died.
