  • The German King died, and the French retreated.
  • The Christians took back some of the holy land
  • Leaving only King Richard I, also known as Lionheart.
  • The Third Crusade
  • The Muslims were lead by their wise leader, Saladin.
  • The Muslims retook Jerusalem in 1189.
  • Both were highly resspected
  • In 1201 French knights wanted to sail to the holy land.
  • The Fourth Crusade
  • Some veterans agreed to pay for it if they conquered a city.
  • They agreed, leading them to attack Constanstinople, a Christian city.
  • They didn't have enough money.
  • There were many more crusades, but they all failed.
  • Untrained soilders, along with unorganized attacks lead to failure.
  • Long distances, climate, and malnutrition were also major causes of failure.
  • The End of the Crusades
  • Jews, along with the Byzantines struggled to trust Christians again however.
  • While the crusades failed miserably, things got better.
  • Politics in Europe changed, giving it more power.
  • Muslims and Christians learned more about eachother.
  • And Muslims thinking they were ruthless invaders.
