Storyboard Text

  • Ethos
  • Now is the time to make real the promi~r·s of democracy. Now is the time to rise from the dark nnll clrsolate valley of segregation to the ,.unlit path of racial justi<·P. Now is the time to li.ft our uation from the quicksands of raeial injustice to the solid r()ek of brotherhood.
  • I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.
  • Pathos
  • I still havea dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the Americandl'e.am. I have a dream that one day this 11ation will riseup, live out the h·ue meaning of its creed: ""' e hold the~etruths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal."
  • With this faith we will be able to work together, to pray together, to struggle together, to go to jail together, to stand up for freedom together, knowing that we will be free one day.
  • Logos
  • I have a dream that one day every valley shall be exhalted, every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made plain, and the crooked places will be made straight, and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together.
  • I have a dream tha,t one day in AJ,abama, with its vicious racists, with its governor having his lipsdripping with the words of interposition and nullification, one day right tl~e-re in Alabama little black boys a.nd blackg.·ids will he abl e to join hands with lit.tle white boy's andwhite girls as sisters anrl brothers.
  • this is ethos because it shows that hes really confident in  his tone and and deliverance and hes showing emotions throughout this speech and really showing that this is a strong subject for him and by talking about his kids it really shows how he wants the best for them
  • this is pathos because hes showing the true meaning of the american dream and hes emotionally attached to it because of his friends and how people are not being treated equally.
  • this is reasoning because hes talking about a particular state and talking about the racism and ect and how hes hoping one day black children will be able to hold hands with white children
