  • Many years before Hernan Cortes lead the Spanish Armada into Tenochititlan, Christopher Columbus explored the land around present day Mexico
  • I see land mis amigos
  • Montezuma II, the king of the Aztecs, saw Lightning, a tidal wave on the lake and a Comet shooting across the sky. He thought the deity, Quetzacoatl, was returning...
  • Later on, Hernan Cortes and his army met the Tlaxcalans and planned to defeat the Aztecs by travelling to Tenochititlan
  • Then basically, Montezuma II is arrested by the Spaniards, eventually killed. A lot of civilians are slaughtered and the Spaniards had to escape

  • In 1520, the Spaniards made a second attempt to conquer the Aztec Empire, instead of their previous route to Tenochtitlan, they made their way through the mountains.
  • Cortes and his army finally defeated the Aztec Empire the same year, 1521. He destroyed the Aztec temples, took Aztec people as slaves, use temple stones to build churches and practised Christianity.
