Storyboard Text

  • Exposition
  • Rising Action
  • Climax
  • Doodle is born and is very weak. He is bright red as his mother and Aunt Nicey watch over him.
  • Falling Action
  • Brother pushes Doodle to his limits while forcing him to train and learn how to walk and run in the forest. Doodle realizes a Scarlet Ibis has died and rushes to bury it.
  • Resolution
  • Doodle is left in the storm by the swamp alone to rot. Brother ran off because he was upset with Doodle because he was not making the progress needed for success at the start of school.
  • Conflict
  • Brother comes back after the storm to find Doodle dead. Doodle is no longer with him and he now regrets running from him during the storm due to a lack of care and too much selfishness
  • Saddened, Brother covers Doodle with a blanket to shield him from the rainstorm above. For the first time, Brother now realizes that he should of just accepted Doodle for how he was and he would still have him now.
  • As Doodle's mother and father are extremely proud of Doodle for defeating the odds and being able to walk, Brother gets mad at himself because he is the only one that knows that the only reason Doodle is walking because of his own selfishness, not his love for Doodle.
