- The falling action is when coach made Ghost take the shoes back to the sporting goods, pay for them and apologize. Ghost learned his lesson. And the girl that worked at the sporting goods was very nice and accepted his apology. Ghost realized that he should of asked his mom or coach instead of just stealing them.
- A symbol in this book is sunflower seeds. He eats sunflower seeds because his dad did. The sunflower seeds are a symbol of friendship and love between Ghost and his dad. He ate them with his dad when he was very young, and ever since his dad was in prison he got them all the time. He got the sunflower seeds from a gas station that Mr. Charles owned.
- The resolution is the day of the race. Ghost was very excited to race. He worked extremely hard almost everyday so he was ready. When he stepped up to the starting line, the race was about to happen, and he looked over and saw Brandon. Neither of them knew each other ran. Ghost and his teammate, Lu were very confident they were going to win.
