  • Foreshadowing: “O God, I have an ill-diving sod! Methinks I see thee now thou are so low as one dead in the bottom of the tomb.

  • Person: “I have nights cloak to hide me from their eyes” 
  • The personification taking place here is that night cannot actually put a clock over Romeo to hide him.
  •  Pun: “Give me a torch. I am not for this ambling. Being but heavy, I will bear the light”
  • Pun
  • The pun here is that Romeo’s heart is heavy and he is asking if anyone can help him carry the heaviness.
