  • Every colonist has to pay an extra amount of money for any sugar!!
  • Wirts of Assistence
  • all soldiers are now allowed to check everything for arms at a colonists house
  • Boston Tea Party
  • Throw all the tea out!
  • No taxation without representation!
  • Get rid of your frustrations
  • The sugar act took a very important place to the declaration of independence because the colonists had to pay for something the British had gotten themselves into so the colonists got very mad. It was also the first thing tax the British gave them so they weren't used to it.
  • Boston Massacre
  • The Wirts of Assistance also took a big role because the colonists got very angry. The colonists hated that someone they didn't know now could check their belongings.
  • Intolerable Acts
  • We are going to close Boston Port until you pay back all the tea you wasted!
  • The Boston Tea Party was a sign of rebellion by the colonists. Now that they had done something against the British, they knew how it felt. It felt much better and they really enjoyed it. Even though this was a great move by the colonists, tempers flared between them and the Brtish which led to the intolerable acts.
  • King didn't read the pettition
  • I am not going to read that stupid petition
  • The Boston Massacre is what really made the colonists mad. It was significant because having men kill them made the colonists want to rebel. They probably thought that if they can shoot us, we can shoot them back.
  • The intolerable acts are something you can tell really frustrated the colonists by the nickname they gave it. It made them want to declare independence because the British were now wanting to control their trading! This really frustrated the colonists because it made them think how successful they can be without the British.
  • Then last but not least, the king not reading the petition. When the king did that, the colonists just knew that they had to split with the Brtitish. They thought that if the British didn't want to try to get the best they can by collaborating, then we will have to do it ourselves.
