Hudson Taylor was born in England on May 21 1832. He was raised in a Christian household, at age 4, he said he wanted to be a Chinese missionary
Despite this upbringing, Taylor became a selfish, worldly man, and decided to disregard faith and live only for himself, entering a bank job at 15.
One day, a miracle happened. Taylor found his way back to Jesus in the library. His whole family rejoiced.
In 1849, Hudson moved to be alone with the Lord, and began to study Mandarin, Greek, Hebrew and Latin, while working as a missionary in the noisy streets of Darinside
Taylor, however, was unsatisfied with his life and decided to move to China and become a missionary there. During his time there, he became one of the commoners of China, helping the poor for no charge in order to ensure their safety.
Unfortunately, Taylor became very sick and had to return to England. He died on June 3rd 1905 at 73 years old.
