SOMEBODY, PLEASE HELP HELP MY DOG IS CHOKING ON A PIECE OF MEAT MY HUSBAND GAVE HIM PLEASE DON'T LET HIM DIE.
Ma'am, please stay calm we will do everything we can to save your dog.
You can't let this dog die. He was my FATHER'S DOG, AND IT IS ALL I HAVE LEFT OF HIM!
Can someone please escort her to the waiting room?
Angie, what can we do when this dog came in he was already blue?
I stood there in shock. I was unable to move or help in any possible way. A strange feeling came over me; my stomach felt like it was turning, and my chest became tight, I was unable to breathe. I have never felt this feeling before. As I held back my tears, I realized this is the first time I've actually felt sad, not for myself, but sad for the dog's family with the news they are about to receive.
I'm sorry Mrs. Johnson, but we were not able to save Willie. When he came into the clinic it was already too late, I am sorry. If you wish to say your last goodbyes to Willie, I have set up a recovery room for you, and your husband.
Yes, thank you. I would like that very much!
I understand, but just how often do situations like this happen?
Zahria, as a veterinarian your not just a caretaker for the animals, but also a support system for the family when situations like this happen.
It was difficult to understand how the owners would get pass this lost, but I couldn't wrap my mind around the reality of how often the doctors must navigate these situations with them possibly happening once every other week depending on the circumstances.
