  • The Tennis Court Oath 
  • It led to food shortages and weak leadership. Also serious economic problems, growing resentment among lower classes.
  • The Storming of the Bastille
  • The first meeting of the French Estate-General. A general assembly representing the French estate. They moved closer to democracy with this important event
  • The Great Fear
  • The tennis court oath is a meeting of the estate and they began to call themselves the National Assembly .
  • After storming the Bastille which was considered a symbol to the people of France representing years of abuse by monarchy 
  • A wave of senseless panic through France where peasants became outlaws themselves.
