The exposition of the story would be how mr. and mrs. white have major Morris come visit them. When he comes to visit them he goes to there house in the middle of nowhere and explains the monkeys paw.
You are scared to see your own son!!
The biggest point in the rising action in my opinion was when The guy came and told them that there son had died at the mill. The reason why I think this is the biggest point is because they got there wish granted by the paw but there was a consequence.
The climax of the story was when Mrs.White heard the knocking at the door after she wished for him to come back alive. This is the climax because This is when the main thing happened that changed the story.
The resolution of the story was when Mr.white got the monkeys paw and for his last wish he wished that his son would go back from where he came from. This caused not having to see her son which but then the end it caused grief.
The falling action in the story is when mr and Mrs white where fighting about her seeing her son. This was the falling action because it lead up to the resolution.
I wish that that thing would go back from where it came and be gone
A common superstition is if a black cat runs in front of you will have bad luck. The reason why is in many religions back in the day cats were supposed to suck the air out of the babies and kill them. I found this one interesting because of its background and how cats became bad luck.
