  • Act 2 Claudius welcomes Rosencrantz and Guildenstern which are Hamlet's childhood friends to spy on him. He is concerened about his change in behavior and thinks it's because he has a guilty conscience.
  • They sent you here because they think I am crazy but I am only acting crazy!''There is / nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it / so,''
  • Act 2 of 2Hamlet welcomes his childhood friends Rosencrantz and Guildenstern.

  • Act 2 Hamlet realizes the Queen has sent his old friends.

  • The prince says, ''What a piece of work is a man!'' and than says, ''Man delights not me.'' He comments that kindness can never be earned, but should always be given: ''Use every man after his desert, and who shall scape whipping?'
  • ''I am but mad north-north-west; when the wind is southerly I know a hawk from a handsaw.'' This is used to indicate the Prince knows what's going on. He hints to his old friends that he knows their true purpose of being there was to spy on him.
