Storyboard Text

  • Amber needs to fix the clock on the wall. She needs to figure out how high the clock is off the ground. She's amazing at trig so she uses her trig knowledge. She's looking at the clock at a 55 angle. She's standing 10 ft away from the clock. She knows that tan(55)  10 =14.2. The clock is 14 ft from the floor.
  • Amber realizes that she isn't tall enough. Her friend, Kara, walks in. She decides to ask Kara to fix the clock.
  • Kara stands on the counter. She uses trig to figure out how far she is from the clock. She's looking at the clock from 40  angle. The height of the clock from the counter is 5 ft. She uses 5/sin(40) = 7.7. So she is 7 ft away from the clock.
  • Kara moves closer to the clock. She moves to be 4 ft. The clock is still 5 ft from the counter. She needs to figure out the angle to stretch her arm to get the clock. She uses tan  (  ) . The angle is 51 .
  • Kara takes the clock down and fixes it. Amber is very thankful and buys her something to eat. They live happily ever after on their trig adventures. The End.
