Good morning class, today we will discussing Mitosis and Meiosis.Meiosis is a process that results in 4 daughter cells and mitosis results in 2 daughter cells.Others may say that meiosis is just mitosis happening twice. Does anyone know why?
I think this is because : .They both have one round of DNA replication. .They both have the same phases. .They're both ways that a cell duplicates.
Very good Daniel! Now,does anyone agree? Form a group on the left if you agree and form a group on the right if you disagree.
I Zariah Bones, disagrees with this"theory"that Meiosis is just mitosis happening twice because although they have the same steps, they end with different offsprings. Mitosis ends with diploid cells and also a genetically identical offspring.Meiosis ends with haploid cells.
