In Uruk, King Gilgamesh was an oppressor of his people.
Enkidu travels to Uruk and versus Gilgamesh in a wrestling match as a test of strength. Gilgamesh wins, but the two become friends.
You're not that bad.
The Gods created Enkidu to be a counterforce to Gilgamesh. He was formed from clay and water by Aruru, the goddess of creation, to rid Gilgamesh of his arrogance.
Enkidu is a wild man, raised by animals and ignorant of human society until he sleeps with Shamhat.
In one of his dreams, Gilgamesh embraces a meteorite which has fallen to earth, and in the other, he embraces an axe. His mother, the goddess Ninsun, interprets his dreams as a promise that "there will come to you a mighty man, a comrade who saves his friend".
