Storyboard Text

  • Lets take over Afghanistan!
  • Yes, good idea!
  • Would you like to trade?
  • We have gold, timber, spices and slaves...
  • Yes.
  • We want....
  • Most of the world's poor countries were once taken over or colonised by European countries.
  • If we take these seeds we can sell them the finished product.
  • Yes, that will get us lots of money.
  • It started with friendly trading for things like gold, tobacco, timber, spices and even slaves.
  • ...
  • Get out!!!
  • But as time went by the Europeans grew greedier and took over their trading partners by force.
  • We are still trying to make Afghanistan better.
  • They took their raw materials, and sold them finished goods  and that made the Europeans very rich.
  • After a while, the Europeans were forced out. But they left behind countries with little or no industry, or education, or skills and oftenwith a great deal of unrest.
  • Many of these colonised countries are still recovering.
