When the Earth was first created... Kiros, the god of water, lived with his brothers, Havoc and Dimetheus in an underwater palace. They could all breathe underwater and on land. They also had a castle on the beach that is now known as the Outer Banks. They spent most of their time keeping the ocean clean, and on their free time, they were bored.
One day, Havoc decided to find something to do on the beach. He started swimming in the ocean and quickly became bored because of the calmness of the ocean.
There is nothing to do because the ocean is too calm!
Havoc went back to the palace and complained to Kiros that there was nothing to do underwater or on the beach. Dimetheus agreed with Havoc, and they both insisted that Kiros should do something. However, Kiros said there was nothing he could do.
Please do something, Father!
I'm sorry, but I can't
Kiros became angry because his brothers were annoying him. He stomped his foot in frustration, and it caused a small underwater-earthquake. Dimetheus left and went on the beach to escape the tension in the room. He discovered waves in the ocean that crashed on the shore. He assumed that the waves were caused by the powerful stomp.
Havoc arrived on the beach, and he and Dimetheus swam together. They both enjoyed swimming in the ocean with the waves. Later, they came up with the idea of "riding the waves" using a board. This eventually became known as "surfing."
Present day... Havoc and Dimetheus convinced Kiros to stomp the ground often because they enjoyed the waves. Kiros continues to stomp the ground to this day. The ocean has waves because Kiros created them to entertain immortals and mortals.
