Henry Bibb was born on the 10th of may 1815. As a child, Henry Bibb watched most of his family be sold into the slave trade. this was very heart breaking for him.
Henry wasn't allowed to go to school as a child a woman called Miss Davies and she made a school that allowed slaves to study. The school was later discovered and shut down by the slave owners
After Marrying in his late teens, Bibb escaped from the slave owner but soon came back to rescue the rest of his family. they were later caught after being attacked by wolves.
Henry was later sold to a Native American group of slave buyers and this is where his long unsuccessful journey of trying to rescue his family began.
Later on, Bibb joined a bunch of slave rights activists campaigns before deciding to lecture other slaves about slavery and how they can fight back.
Later on in his life, Bibb moved to Canada and started the first ever Black race Newspaper company called 'Voice of the Fugitive' During this period Bibb led the campaign to persuade fugitive slaves and free African Americans to settle in Canada. He died during the Summer of 1854.
