This is the comic I made about how Salva's character grew. ENJOY!
I will help you!
Why did everyone leave me? I would not have whined or complained!
I need to stay strong. Even though Uncle Jewiir and Marial are dead, I need to stay strong and get to the refugee camp. Uncle Jewiir and Marial would have wanted me to continue.
Salva has been left behind by the group of people he was with. He believes this is because they thought that he would slow them down and that he would complain and whine. He sees a woman in the distance who tells him that the barn is her's, and that he could stay in it for a little while for the price of doing chores.
After a rival tribe killed Salva's Uncle, Salva was left with two choices. He could have either given up, or continued on his journey to get to the refugee camp. He knows that Marial and Uncle Jewiir would want him to resume his journey, so he lifted his head high and persevered through the hard times of his life.
Salva had just crossed the Gilo river and was leading a group of one thousand five hundred boys. He led them through Sudan to their final destination, which was another refugee camp. He led them through Sudan for a very long time. After they got to the refugee camp, he was sent to live in America with a foster family. From there he created the Water for South Sudan foundation.
