Agriculture began in many different regions of the world around the same time.
People gathered seeds from wild plants to grow crops like grain, potatoes, and rice.
They were able to farm because of warming climates and their knowledge of the environment.
Foragers began to transition to farming due to increasing competition and growing human communities.
A reliable food source allowed civilizations to form.
Agrarian civilizations also domesticated animals like dogs, birds, and cattle.
