  • The narrator and the old man are introduced. We start to feel that the narrator has a problem with the old man.
  • Climax
  • The narrators does not like the old mans eye. The old mans eye is foggy because he is blind. That is why he does not like it.
  • Falling action
  • Every night for 7 days the narrator visits the old mans room and practices for "the deed".
  • Conclusion
  • The narrator commits the deed and kills the old man during the night. He flips the bed over the man and suffocates him. He later dismembers his body and hides it under the floor boards.
  • Two police show up at the mans house because people nearby heard the old man scream and thought there was something suspicious going on.
  • The man invites the police officer in for tea and sits his chair right where the dead man is laying. He then panics and owns up to everything and the police take him to jail.
