Texas vs Johnson. He was arrested because he burned the American Flag because he disagreed about who the next president should be.
He was sentenced to a year in prison and fined $2,000.
He later got a lawyer to explain his case because he believed that it was his freedom of speech.
They finally declared it that it was taking away his freedom of speech and that he was not going to be charged or sentenced because he was allowed to burn the flag.
They won the case and George Johnson was free.
The precedent was the 1st Amendement to the U.S Constitution which forbids laws that would limit the citizen's freedom of speech.
