Kazi Shamsuzzaman is from Jadavpur, British India. His family lived in Howrah before partition
A riot broke out in Howrah in 1946 during which 8 people died.
Kazi's house was looted and burned down. Women ran away with only thier jewlery. Both kazi and his father had to hide
Kazi and his father fled to Dhaka with no money to their name. They were called "goki" and were discriminated against because they were refugees.
Khazi worked hard to finish his education and become an insurance agent.
Years later he returned to his childhood home and it was rebuilt and owned by a different person.
