On Sunday, 1 February, Braden Walsh's life was going to be a lot different for a long time. From being an active teenager who loved all kinds of sports, he was going to be stuck in a wheelchair due to a terrible swimming accident.
He was in the warm, wavy sea one afternoon with his friends. Suddenly they ran out as fast as they could shouting SHARK!
The shark slowly approached Braden then grabbed him by his legs. The shark dragged him around with his legs stuck in his mouth. "Help!" he screamed.
Luckily a lifeguard sprinted, fully clothed, into the water and kicked the shark so it would flip over and let Braden go. He had to get lifted out of the water.
He was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance through the busy city. Doctors were in there with him trying to bandage his legs so the would stop bleeding.
When he got the hospital he got two casts on his legs. He now has to be in a wheel chair for two months until his legs heal.
