Starting A Colony
Greeks traveled from place to place often because they settled in many colonies that they had created. In order to reach the colonies it often required traveling by boat some times but very rarely people walked by foot.
Visiting farms were very important because they were able to trade and grow crops with other people, and harvest their own.
Ancient Greece started lots of colonies because they were surounded by lots of mountains which caused Greece to be very isolated. since they and lots of mountains it was difficult for them to grow crops so as a result they started colonies, and traded with other countries in return.
