  • Women played a big role in the Revolutionary War, as spies, fundraisers, camp followers, and provided active physical support. This slide shows a women fundraising and sewing blankets for soldiers.
  • Foreign-Born Heroes of the American Revolution
  • Native Americans provided backup support, weapons, and men.
  • Espionage/Intelligence Gathering
  • Many Africans were tricked into joining the war by their masters, who promised them freedom if they fought, but the promises were rarely kept.
  • Weapons/Tactics/Military Life
  • Foreign-born people also played a role in the Revolution by providing financial, combat, and training support. In this image, I depicted Casimir Pulaski (Polish) training the American cavalry.
  • Spies used methods such as ciphers, masked letters, or invisible ink. This shows a man reading a message from a spy.
  • This slide demonstrates the Americans using guerilla tactics to surprise the British. Guerilla tactics are the tactics in which an army sneaks and ambushes another army while wearing the same clothing as them.
