- You won't get away with this Amulius.
- I am now the king and your daughter will become a vestal virgin!
- No! Please, no! No!
- King Numitor's brother Amulius took the throne and forced Numitor's daughter, Rhea Silvia, to become a vestal virgin, so that she would not have any children who might try to take back the throne.
- When the twins, Romulus and Remus, were born, Amulius took them and put them in a basket.
- Amulius threw the basket, with the twins in it, into the river Tiber hoping they would drown. However, a she-wolf rescued them. The she-wolf cared for the babies and fed them with her own milk.
