  • There it is. I know it's a tough time but I'll give you money and see you're taken care of.
  • What is it darling? What's the matter?

  • I told you I'm not hungry, I'm going out!
  • Exposition: We meet the main character, Mary Maloney, and her husband Patrick. Mary is 6 months pregnant. Mary waits for him to come home from work, then they sit in the living room drinking. Patrick is acting strangeSetting: Mary and Patrick Maloney's house, 5:00 at night, 1950s
  • Climax
  • So I've killed him..
  • The conflict of the story is when Patrick says he is going to leave Mary. He is going to break up with her and move out.He knows it's a bad time considering she is pregnant but he says he is going to give her money if she does not make problems for him.
  • Falling Action
  • -Mary does not want to believe what her husband said is true -She gets food to cook for supper (dinner)-Gets a big, frozen leg of lamb. -Her husband insists that he doesn't want anything to eat and that he was going out.
  • Resolution
  • The weapon is probably right under our noses!
  • Mary kills her husband. She hits him on the back of the head with the frozen leg of lamb and he falls to the ground. She then puts the lamb in the oven to cook it.
  • -She leaves Patrick on the floor, goes to the market, and talks to Sam (he works there) - says she is buying food to cook for dinner-When she gets home she calls the police (Jack and O'Malley), says she just got home and found her husband dead-Police officers names: Jack and O'Malley
  • They think it was a break-in, and search the house for a weaponMary tells the cops to eat the leg of lamb - they eat it!While they eat it in the kitchen, Mary laughs in the other room.
