- Hello! My name is Nicolaus Copernicus, I am Catholic. I was born on February 19, 1473, Toruń, Poland. That was back when we used the Julius Calendar and the scientific revolution hadn’t started yet (we’ll come back to this later).
- My father was a wealthy merchant who passed away somewhere between 1483 and 1485. After that, my mother’s brother, Luka Watzenrode took me in. He was about to become bishop of Varmia (now Warmia), Poland.
- Only 27 of my observations are known, but I wrote many more. I made all observations with my naked eyes, they were mostly about eclipses, alignments, and conjunctions of planets and stars. Using my observations, I developed my theory about Heliocentrism.
