Hello, I'm going to be teaching how to learn and draw basic anatomy in art for beginners.
I recommend you draw a picture without reference or influence, you will use this drawing to compare before and after. Taking notes on anatomy tutorials on youtube will help you understand what you're actually doing. Research heavily, youtube videos that talk about the good and bad art advice. Get as many opinions as you can.
Next. collect art from some of your favorite art or artists. Trace /copy, then draw out shapes and forms you see in every body part. Use Line of action and silhouette, they're techniques to make your characters look more alive.
After a few days, continue practicing these shapes on your own. If you are able to remember some of them without reference, you are progressing. Test that memory by drawing on your own without reference. Don't focus on small details, it's all about understanding how these bodies shape and form together.
Never compare yourself to others, use art as an element to implement in your own art. Comparing your older art to newer art is a good way to motivate yourself as long as you're making progress. your art is bad, and that's okay. No one starts out perfect.
Art takes time be mindful and patient, and don't overwork yourself either. Use techniques based on the art style you're trying to achieve. Once you've learned a good portion of anatomy,start drawing on your own. If you continue to see results, keep going. Good luck.
