- Ruth would like to get a new home some day but she knows they don't have that kind of money so she settles for what she has.
- Lindner's rejection
- Mamas dreams are similar to Ruth's and just wants the best for her family. With her insurance money, she put down a payment on a home.
- With the money that was left, Bobo and him entrusted the money to Willy to invest into a liquor store. Willy later betrayed them and took off with the money.
- With the Younger's being the only black family in a white community, Lindner offered them a deal in return of their leave, which Walter rejected.
