The Roman empire was one of the biggest empires in history. Constatine was the first Christian roman emperor. He placed big walls at the limes in west Rome and moved to the Byzantine empire. He only wanted to defend west Roman empire, not enlarge it.The Roman consisted of parts of Europe, North Africa and the Middle East. It was going so well with the Roman empire that people were getting lazy. And they lived their good lives.

When the last emperor Theodosius died the west empire was close to it's end. Goths vandals roamed the lands and started to set up their own kingdoms.

The Germanic tribes were undefeated and they tried to let the Roman empire fall. The Roman army was weak, because a lot of people didn't want to fight anymore. They were not prepared to fight the Germanic tribes.
After fighting for half a millennium, the Germanic tribes got finally the best of Rome.
Some things we are still using are: bridges, aquaducts, amphitheatres and sewers.
