- Hey, how are you doing? How are the kids?
- Hey, I am doing great! The kids are good although Samantha is having some issues being at school.
- Well, why do you think that is?
- I talked to her doctor and he said that he thinks it may be due to my attachment parenting.
- Growing up with this level of nurture may discourage children from venturing out on their own and exploring their individuality (Nas, 2020).
- Ah, yes I have heard of that before but we didn't do it with our kiddos. I personally believe that children have less confidence when entering their independence through attachment parenting.
- I think of it more as making sure she knows that she is supported and can be comfortable talking to me.

- Older children realize that their parents will not discipline them, so they take advantages of the need to stay connected (Gaille, 2018).
- I also believe that it can lead to disciplinary issues due to the connection it forms with the children.
- I feel like my parenting made her more compassionate and caring though. She just struggles listening to her teachers and I don't like to punish her.
- Young children who are exposed to attachment parenting are often less fussy (Gaille, 2018).
