- Can you tell me about the Boston Tea Party?
- Sure
- Back in the 1760s, the British imposed a bunch of unfairly high taxes on the American colonists especially on tea and the colonists were angry
- So in the night on December 16, 1773 the colonists went aboard one of the British ships
- And threw 342 chests of tea into the sea and the British were absolutely furious
- Wow!! Thanks mom
- After that, the British passed the intolerable acts and treated the colonists worse but that was just the beginning of the road to a revolution
