  • Boston tea party
  • We want the British to give us justice!
  • Yeah!
  • We will pour tea boxes in the harbor to show the british our message!
  • Stamp act
  • Boycott all paper goods to get rid of the stamp tax!
  • No Taxation without representation!
  • We want representation in parliment
  • Quartering act
  • What!?!
  • And without our consent!?!? This is unfair!
  • Soldiers will now stay in people's houses as punishment for the boston tea party
  • These people are on one of the boats used to import tea. They are angry because the British keep taxing them without representation. To show them the message they are going to pour the tea into the harbor. The British had put taxes on paper goods, things like tea and glass and now they put a tax on tea. They made the colonists buy tea from only one company so the British can make more profit. This is why they chose to do this to send a message to the British.
  • Townshend acts
  • Yeah! First the stamp act and now this?
  • What!?! I want no taxation without representation!
  • This is the stamp act. The people in this are boycotting paper goods because the stamp act is a tax on paper goods. The people are American colonists who got taxed by the British without any representation in parliament. Thus the phrase "No taxation without representation". The colonists ended up boycotting all paper goods so that the British would have no choice but to repeal the tax since they weren't making and profit.
  • Closing the boston harbor
  • But I work here i'll lose my job!
  • As punishment the Boston Harbor is closed
  • This was one of the intolerable acts. This act was that from now on soldiers would stay in colonists' homes to prevent any more rebellion. This was one of the punishments for pouring tea into the Boston harbor. Now whether the colonists liked it or not they had to take care of soldiers and let them live in their homes while the soldiers kept a watch on them.
  • Boston Massacre
  • we are rebelling for what the british has done to us!
  • Please calm down and leave!
  • This happened right after the stamp act. When the colonists were finally free from the stamp act as compensation the British put more taxes on other small things like tea and glass. The colonists were even more angered and the main reason was that they had no say in anything. They all wanted a representative in parliament and this made them angrier but in the end, the taxes were repealed. That was after a lot of hard work from the colonists though and they also boycotted the products.
  • There is more taxes like on tea and glass
  • The closing of the Boston harbor is one of the punishments for the Boston tea party. This was a cruel punishment because this was the main source of trade for Boston and a lot of people worked here so they lost their jobs. Boston's economy depended on the Boston Harbor so this was a big problem and the British didn't care and made it one of the intolerable acts as punishment for the Boston tea party when the colonists were just trying to send a message to them.
  • And how will we trade!
  • This is the Boston Massacre. During the Boston Massacre, the colonists were rebelling against some soldiers because they were fed up with the British and they even attacked the soldiers and in all the confusion the British soldiers thought they were ordered to fire so 5 colonists ended up dying and 10 were injured. The colonists called it the Boston massacre as propaganda to persuade people like the neutralists to join their side.
  • Yeah the British take everything too far!
