- Ethos: Rainsford could explain that he hasn't gotten bored of hunting animals and otherwise he wouldn't have written the book. He is saying that animals are more enjoyable to hunt than humans
- Logos: He tells Zaroff that even eventually humans will be boring to hunt cause they eventually might end up doing the same thing that animals do.
- Pathos He might tell Zaroff that it is inhumane to kill animals and it isn't as wrong to kill animals.
