- Hey Tina,I heard that your class was going for field trip to a farm. Aren't you excited?
- Can you please explain more about it?
- Today I will show plantation agriculture.
- Is it easier to do this type of agriculture?
- They were introduced by the Europeans. Its a commercial type of farming with specialization of a single crop. This types of farms are huge and are called estates.
- Won't it be difficult to transport the crops?
- Machinery is used wherever required. A lot of manual labour is required and skilled labour is often imported . The crop is processed before being sent to the market for sale.
- Thank You so much for explaining plantation agriculture to us. We enjoyed it very much.
- The estates are well connected to ports and railheads. The entire agricultural system is scientifically managed like a factory.
