Esperanza brings up the issue of Calixta having a relationship with someone despite the fact that she is not yet married. Calixta seems to disappoint her because she was brought up by her mother. Alfredo objected, claiming that it was not a serious mistake. Only to discover that Alfredo has a someone on his heart.
Alfredo is mesmerized by his old memories of him and Julia after eight years. He was filled with thoughts and questions. One day, he ran across his client, Brigida Samuy. When he met Julia, he knew his affections for her were already over.
