- On the first week of school, the school announcemnt rang and spoke about if anyone wanted to sign up for SRLA. The guy behind me in math, Benny, said SRLA sounds dumb and at first I thought maybe it is dumb since it's only running. The coaches was Mr. Garcia, Ms. Shum, and Mr. Soto, and friends I haven't seen since elementary was joining.
- Climax
- Once I got home, I told my mom and sister what I signed up for and my mom said that this program would be a waste of time and that I need to focus on school. My sister was fine with driving me to practices and home early in the morning. I told my mom that we need to go to a SRLA meeting to sign paperwork in the weekend and she said fine as long as I'm not the one driving you to all the practices.
- Falling Action
- Mr. Garcis was much taller then I thought and there were a lot of students joining ,The meeting was suprisingly very informative and my mom changed her mind and decided that it actually might be something I could do to win medals. I thought that as long as I make her proud of me then I would have achieved something so great.
- Resolution
- On our first practice I immediatly was good at running long distance and my friend was the same pace as me. I enjoyed this so much, and it was only the first practice. My mom was suprised when I told her I finished before everyone at the practice and so I made a promise to myself, never quit.
- How is a girl faster than me?!!?!?!?!
- All of a sudden on the way home, my mom started getting mad because she could be doing so many other thing right now but instead she's driving me. She scolded me of how I never listened and always waste peoples time for something useless. She said that if I quit she would send me to a Christian school to suffer if my grades are bad too.
- The next day she had a flight to another state so she could work for her job. The last thing she told me was to keep going and to not stop even if I feel like giving up. I was so suprised when I heard this so I made it my life mission to complete all the races including the marathon.
