When professor Mirabella found out about her daughter Gina she was nervous and scared. The doctors were quick to give her options on how to get rid of her child because thay did not believe that Gina was going to be able to be a great part of society.
With her determination and wanting to vocalize that her child can do the things every other child can do Gina was able to get a great childhood. As a teacher I would support parents with any concern they have in the classroom. Additionally, most parents know their child limitation so I would ask the parents on how I can challenge their child and the areas their child need support.
As a teacher I will be the students other activist. I will make sure that I am challenging the student to the best of their ability. That I am making sure that the student has the right peer connections and the student is understanding. I will most of all treat the student as a regular student who just needs a little more of assistance. Lastly, I will keep Gina's story in mind to remember to create a comfortable classroom that helps every student.
