Satellites
The official definition of a satellite is a moon, planet or machine that orbits a planet or star.
As we will learn satellites are extremely important as they are useful and extremely relevant in todays society.
Artificial Satellites, which we are looking at are machines that orbit and therefore collect information on its surroundings.

Satellites are used for many different jobs, on of the most important ones is navigation. to get from point A to point B using technology we are using information derived from the findings of satellites.
Transferring Data
Another main use of satellites is Earth observation and imagery. This helps thoroughly with geology and geographical discoveries as there are over 2,500 satellites orbiting the Earth right now!
A common use of artificial satellites that isn't well known is the transportation of instruments and passengers to space stations or a specific space to perform experiments.
Transporting astronauts from satellite to space station, so there they can conduct there experiment.
