This semester, I am most proud of how much I challenged myself to think beyond individual student support and recognize the larger role school counselors play in advocating for equity, building strong school-family-community partnerships, and creating positive systems change. I also stayed committed to producing thoughtful, high-quality work while growing with each assignment. Throughout the semester, I became more reflective and intentional about considering different perspectives and understanding how my actions can positively impact others. Professionally, I developed a stronger understanding of advocacy, family engagement, civic responsibility, and the importance of using data and collaboration to support student success. Overall, I feel much more confident in my ability to create inclusive environments and serve as a future school counselor who advocates for all students.

My greatest challenge during this course was learning to think beyond supporting students individually and instead focus on creating systems that promote equity, advocacy, and meaningful change for all students. At first, it felt overwhelming to consider the broader impact school counselors can have, but as the course went on, I became more confident in that role.
