- In 1815, during the Congress of Vienna, they decided to organize the German states. They organized them into the German Confederation. This is the beginning of the unification of Germany. Prussia, Britain, Russia and Austria were all present at this congress. Austria dominated at the Congress of Vienna.

- In 1848, the Frankfurt Parliament convvened. The people were mainly from the middle-class, such as, professionals and business men. They drafted a consitution for a unified Germany. This was the first time people tried to unify Germany. This would later fail and other factors lead to the Frankfurt Parliament to fail as a whole later.

- This is Otto von Bismarck, he was from Prussia. He had the most impact on the unification of Germany. He wanted to unify Germany in his own way. He wanted to do it through military force. This then led to countless of wars, which Prussia won, all of them.
