Good Morning Class! My name is Mr. Werry and for today's lesson we will be talking about Energy Transformations and examples that we can see almost every single day.
First of all, what is an energy transformation? Energy transformation is basically the change of energy from a form to another. This occurs all around us.
An example of this would be a toaster. The toaster gets the electric current (electrical energy) from the wall outlet and converts the electric charge into heat (thermal energy) in order to toast your bread.

When we eat, our body converts the chemical energy from our food and turn it into mechanical energy for us to move.(in the form of muscle movement)

The sun is also a great example of energy transformation. The sun uses nuclear energy in order to produce its light and heat.

You can even try to do an energy transformation right now. Rub both of your hands. Do you feel your hands getting warmer? Rubbing your hands together uses mechanical energy and that energy converts to thermal energy (heat) which makes your hands warmer.
