NOBLES
The king would give land to the nobles in order for them toadministrate or look after the land
The Kings role in the feudal system was to grant land (orfiefs) to the noble people in his kingdom for them toadministrate and collect taxes
In return the Nobles would have to pay taxes (gold and food) to theking and come to his aid if there was a war

Knights
Knights were in charge of the manors and would makesure that they were run well
Knights were skilled soldiers that fought in wars for theking.
The knights would also offer protection to the peasantsand serf that worked on the manor as farmers
In return for the manors the knights would pay taxes tothe nobles and agree to fight in any wars that thekingdom got involved in

PEASANTS
The knights would then make sure that the peasants wereprotected from any bandits or outside dangers.
In return for working on the land the peasants would paytaxes and food to the knights.
Peasants were the farmers of the middle ages• They worked on the manors for the knights and farmed theland
