- I wonder how todays going to be in the trenches, hasn't been to fun so far
- No! The rats are taking our food and are everywhere
- Two of our men are down here! Looks like they got sniped!

- Go do your chores. I'll take him to the doctor and deal with the dead body.
- Soldier Jack did his daily chores. This consisted of repairing duckboards, filling sandbags and cleaning latrines (their toilets)
