  • There sense of smell and hearing is what allows them to sense predators.
  • Their long and slender legs help them walk across different terrain and run 35 mph.
  • Moose Antlers are used to communicate and to assert dominance.
  • The fur keeps them insulated and warm, helping them survive the cold winters
  • There hooves allow them to swim effectively and aid them in diving up to 18 feet.
  • Their Tusks allow them to survive through dry spells by digging in dried riverbeds for water.
  • Their trunk allows them to reach and gather supplies that they could not get if they did not have a trunk.
  • Elephants flap their ears to help cool down their blood and body.
  • There size plays a huge role in scaring other predators away.
  • Elephants travel in herds, and are matriarchal, meaning they live in female-led groups.
  • There eyes and nose are on top of their head. So they can swim and watch out for prey at the same time.
  • Their teeth are useful in chewing and eating their food. And, if they lose a tooth one grows back right away.
  • Since they live in hot, humid swamps. Their skin is tough and protects them from the sun.
  • Their webbed toes allow them to push back water while swimming, propelling them farther into the water.
  • An Alligators tail is very strong and aids them in swimming.
