Considering the number of sick patients rushing int hospitals, we decided to have one-on-one interviews with parents. Moreover focus groups helped the community open up, we ended up finding out the communities stance on vaccines.

There are two rotavirus vaccines currently licensed for use. The vaccine used in South Africa is Rotarix® which is given routinely as part of the Extended Program of immunization. Studies have shown the vaccine to reduce severe infection by 77%, improved sanitation also helps combat it.
Rotavirus is a common cause for diarrhea, diarrhea related hospital admissions and deaths in children under 5 worldwide. It has been rated the third leading pathogen associated with childhood mortality.
