- Just back up slow and quiet to the ladder and climb upto the loft.

- The black bear broke into Lyddie's cabin. There was a conflict between the bear and lyddie, lyddie represents the person and the bear represents nature.
- Ezekial is a runaway slave who broke into lyddie's cabin. The conFlict is socity (law) vs person ( Ezekial ) . Ezikal is running away from the law to escape.
- The stage coach gets stuck and only lyddie is willing to get it unstuck. The confilct is person (lyddie) vs person (the people in the coach ). The people in the cacoach did not even offer any help to lyddie.
